Heathrow airport resumes full operations as airlines scramble to reroute passengers

Heathrow airport had been due to handle 1,351 flights on Friday before it was shut down due to a fire

Heathrow Airport resumed full operations on Saturday after a fire at a nearby substation caused widespread flight cancellations on Friday, affecting nearly 6,000 Dublin-Heathrow passengers and leading to diversions to other airports, including Shannon. While 34 flights between Dublin and Heathrow were canceled on Friday, only two British Airways flights between the two airports were canceled on Saturday. Aer Lingus planned to operate a normal schedule on Saturday. Airlines advised passengers to check their flight status.
