Homicide trial will peer into London's 'drug subculture': Crown

It wasn’t like Grant Norton to not contact his daughter “pretty much every day.”

Ashley Bourget is on trial for the first-degree murder of Grant Norton, a high-level drug dealer. Norton was last seen driving around London on July 5, 2020, with a large sum of cash, seeking to purchase crystal meth. He told a witness he found a dealer called "Big Ashley". The Crown alleges Bourget and others planned to rob Norton of his money under the guise of a drug deal. Norton died of blunt force trauma and stab wounds. The trial will present evidence from people in the drug subculture and DNA evidence and autopsy results. Bourget initially denied knowledge of the events.
