One borough in the North West saw property prices soar by 13 percent in the last year



House prices in the UK rose by nearly 5% over the past year, reaching an average of £268,000 in December 2024, an increase of around £12,000. One area in the North West saw prices surge by 13%, with Blackburn with Darwen experiencing the highest percentage increase at 13.1%, despite having one of the lowest average prices at £159,000. Other areas, including Fermanagh and Omagh and Tewkesbury, saw increases of 11%. However, 47 local authority areas saw house prices fall, with the City of Westminster experiencing the largest drop at 22.2% to £868,000, followed by Hammersmith and Fulham at 10.5% to £752,000.
