Human Rights Groups: Syria Jihadis Tell Christians 'You're Next' amid Alawite Slaughter

Following Assad's ouster in Syria, jihadist groups, emboldened by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), have launched attacks against Alawites, claiming revenge for their perceived support of Assad. Widespread reports indicate massacres of Alawite families and communities, with over 1,500 reported dead. Humanitarian groups report that Christians are also being threatened and attacked, with some sources documenting HTS using starvation tactics against Christian workers and warnings that they will be targeted next. Reports vary, but evidence suggests hundreds to over 800 Christians have been killed based on their religion. International Christian Concern notes severe persecution of Christians, along with other minorities, under HTS.
