Hungarian lawmakers have passed a law banning Pride events and allowing authorities to use facial recognition software to identify attendees



Hungary banned the Budapest Pride march, citing potential harm to children. The ban follows a law prohibiting the "depiction or promotion" of homosexuality to those under 18. Despite the ban, Pride organizers intend to proceed with the march. Parliament also opposed joint European borrowing for defense.
