Huw Edwards has still not paid back any salary he pocketed from the BBC despite calls to return it after his conviction over child abuse images

Disgraced broadcaster Huw Edwards has been 'unwilling' to pay back the £200,000 salary he pocketed between his arrest and resignation, BBC Chairman Samir Shah admitted today.

Huw Edwards, convicted of possessing child abuse images, has not repaid the BBC the £200,000 salary he received between his arrest in November 2023 and resignation in April 2024. The BBC's chairman, Samir Shah, expressed frustration over the situation and stated the corporation has been unable to recover the funds despite seeking legal advice. Edwards received a suspended prison sentence and was placed on the sex offender register.
