I have the same name as BBC icon... but I can't get a passport as officials say it's 'frivolous'

A mother who raised thousands for charity by changing her name is pleading with Home Office officials to finally grant her a passport after 16 years - having deemed her new name too 'frivolous'.

A woman legally changed her name to "Pudsey Bear" for charity in 2009 but has been repeatedly denied a passport by the UK Home Office, who deem the name "frivolous" and potentially a copyright infringement. Despite having all other documentation in her legal name, she is unable to travel or vote. A soldier's seven-year-old son has also been refused a passport due to his name.
