ICE detainees at large after escaping Colorado facility during power outage

The power went out at the Aurora facility and the back doors of the detention centre opened up to a soccer field, giving the men a chance to flee.

Two ICE detainees, Geilond Vido-Romero and Joel Jose Gonzalez-Gonzalez, escaped from the Denver Contract Detention Facility in Aurora, Colorado, during a power outage on Tuesday night. Police believe they fled through a back door. Local authorities declined to assist with the search, and ICE alerted other law enforcement partners. The Aurora Police Department was notified hours after the escape, giving the men a significant head start. Both men were in the country illegally. Vido-Romero had previously been ordered for removal from the U.S.
