U.S. rejects Mexico’s request for special delivery of water for the 1st time

Mexico is behind on its water transfer obligations to the U.S. due to drought, and the U.S. is considering various options, including withholding aid and water, to ensure Mexico complies with the treaty. The U.S. denial follows a vote from the Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs Committee that the U.S. State Department ensure Mexico meets its obligations to deliver water to the U.S..
