The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, donated six gunboats to the Rivers State Police to enhance waterway security, particularly addressing complaints of sea piracy and armed robbery in Bonny Local Government Area. The donation was made during a commissioning ceremony attended by officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, who expressed gratitude and support for the initiative. The Rivers Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, assured that the gunboats would be used judiciously. The event aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the importance of security in the region.
