The University of Galway's Imirce project, an archive of Irish emigrants' letters and memoirs, received a $300,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York to expand its digital collection, develop teaching resources, enhance data visualization, and conduct research. The archive includes letters from the 1600s to the 20th century, documenting the experiences of Irish emigrants to North America. The project is accepting donations of emigrant letters and memoirs.
