Israel confirms it is firing 'extensive strikes' at 'Hamas terrorists' on Gaza strip after ceasefire talks stalled

In a post on Telegram, the army said it was currently 'conducting extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organisation in the Gaza Strip'.

The Israel-Hamas ceasefire has collapsed, with "extensive strikes" from the IDF causing numerous deaths and injuries, including children. Israel stated the strikes were in response to Hamas's refusal to release hostages and rejection of proposals. Hamas claims Israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire. Palestinian sources report dozens of airstrikes across Gaza, resulting in a rising death toll and injuries. The White House was consulted by Israel prior to the strikes. Talks to extend the initial ceasefire, which involved hostage releases for prisoners, had stalled.
