It’s Looking More Likely NASA Will Fly the Artemis II Mission

The core stage of NASA’s Space Launch System is now integrated with the rocket’s twin boosters.

NASA is progressing with the Artemis II mission, integrating the Space Launch System's core stage with its boosters at Kennedy Space Center. This mission, slated for as early as next year, will send a crew around the moon. The core stage is powered by four RS-25 engines. While Artemis II won't land, it's a precursor to Artemis III, which aims to land astronauts on the moon using SLS, Orion, and SpaceX's Starship. Recent progress includes installing Orion's solar panels and service module closeouts. Although challenges and potential delays exist, Artemis II's development continues.
