Japan unveils new 200mph, 'earthquake resistant' bullet train designed in BRITAIN

The new East Japan Railway Company (JR East) train - the E10 - will come into service in 2030 and replace the existing E2 and E5 bullet trains on the Tohoku route.

Japan has unveiled a new 200mph, earthquake-resistant E10 bullet train, designed by British firm Tangerine. This marks the first time a non-Japanese company has designed a Shinkansen. The E10, set to launch in 2030, will replace existing trains on the Tohoku route, featuring a two-tone exterior reflecting the landscape and an interior inspired by Japanese aesthetics, including Sakura flower motifs.
