Sadiq Khan unveils £7m fund in bid to clean up London's rivers

Funding comes as the mayor hosts a roundtable summit with Thames Water and other agencies - but is criticised for failing to include the London Assembly

Sadiq Khan announced a £7.15m fund from City Hall and TfL to reduce road run-off pollution and improve London's waterways, aiming for "swimmable" rivers by 2034. The funding will support rewilding projects, community groups, and preventative measures. Khan hosted a roundtable with Thames Water and other agencies to discuss collaborative cleanup efforts. Thames Water also announced a £20m fund for environment and community groups. The London Assembly was not included in the round table.
