Dublin man died in hospital three days after one-punch attack on St Patrick’s Day in 2023
The trial of Sanusi Sadiq, charged with manslaughter in the death of Dublin native Barry Whelan in Boston on St. Patrick's Day 2023, ended in a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. A new trial date is scheduled for April 15th. The defense argued Whelan's death was accidental, exacerbated by intoxication and allegedly preceded by racial abuse, claims disputed by witnesses.
