Murat Ongun'la aynı dönemde kameramanlık yapan Bağdatlı'nın Ekrem İmamoğlu'nun 2019'da İBB Başkanlığı koltuğuna oturmasıyla hayatı aniden değişti.
Emrah Bağdatlı, a key figure in alleged corruption within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), fled the country after an operation targeting Medya A.Ş. He reportedly created a false impression of leaving by plane, but instead escaped through the Ipsala border gate in a car. Bağdatlı, who rose from cameraman to benefiting from numerous İBB tenders after Ekrem İmamoğlu became mayor, is accused of using shell companies registered under his employees' names to secure contracts. He had close ties with Murat Ongun, and his wedding was officiated by İmamoğlu himself.
