What was left of the former cinema and Bingo hall was torn down in the days following the blaze
The abandoned Astoria Bingo hall in Hyde, a former cinema, was destroyed by fire in February 2025 and subsequently demolished. Urban explorer Jake's 2020 photos captured the interior before the blaze, documenting the dilapidated bar, fruit machines, and bingo paraphernalia. The hall, which closed in 2009, had been renamed the Astoria in the 1950s after being originally built a 100 years ago and becoming a Bingo Hall in the 1960s.
