Le Canada dépose plainte à l’OMC contre des droits de douane chinois

Canada has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against China regarding tariffs on agricultural and fisheries products. Canada argues the tariffs, including those on canola oil, canola meal, peas, seafood, and pork products, are inconsistent with China's obligations under the GATT 1994 and the Dispute Settlement Understanding. The complaint initiates a consultation period, and if unresolved within 60 days, Canada may request a panel review by the WTO. China imposed these tariffs in response to Canada's tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, steel, and aluminum, and amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.
