Leo Sayer reflects on infamous Celebrity Big Brother meltdown: ‘It was pretty horrible’

English-Australian singer compared the experience to being in ‘a Maga cult’

Leo Sayer, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, reflected on his 2007 appearance on *Celebrity Big Brother UK*, describing it as a "pretty horrible" experience. During the show, Sayer famously escaped the house after being told he could not have fresh underwear, only washing powder to clean his clothes. He compared the experience to being in "a Maga cult" and criticized the living conditions, stating, "You are spreading diseases, Big Brother, by making people live like this." Security attempted to prevent him from leaving. In an interview, Sayer admitted he didn't realize what he was getting into and now tries to forget the experience, saying, "It never happened, it's a better way to deal with it." He also expressed a desire to perform at the Legends Slot at Glastonbury Festival.
