Limassol hospital’s neonatal unit receives vital breathing support machine
Limassol General Hospital's neonatal unit received a vital breathing support machine, funded through metal recycling proceeds, during a ceremony attended by Health Minister Michael Damianos, who praised the initiative. The equipment, a CPAP driver, is part of the Cans For Kids donation totaling nearly €350,000 since 1990. The unit, upgraded in 2017, serves Limassol and Paphos, treating around 400 newborns annually with five intensive care and ten intermediate care beds. Neonatologists and nurses staff the unit, with complex cases transferred to Makarios Hospital. Petrolina supported the initiative by providing fuel, enabling more funds for medical equipment.
