A Trump donor, Tim Barnard, whose company, Barnard Construction, received over $1 billion to build parts of the border wall, is the contractor for the project, raising concerns about conflicts of interest. Opponents allege the project, a $1.5 billion replacement plan involving a tunnel under the Great Lakes, poses a significant environmental risk.
