London shelter blanches at latest city hall homeless funding plans
A London shelter, Ark Aid Street Mission, expresses concern over proposed city hall funding plans for homelessness initiatives. City politicians will consider recommendations including enhanced outreach and 88 shelter beds, but Ark Aid's director says the proposed $3 million allocation for 70 emergency shelter spaces is insufficient to maintain current service levels, forcing them to re-evaluate services. A separate recommendation includes stable funding for 18 women's beds at the Salvation Army Centre of Hope.
