Lucy Letby's lawyer says police have made 'huge mistake' by launching manslaughter probe into hospital staff and claims evidence 'points the finger in a different direction'

Lucy Letby, 35, from Hereford, was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder seven others, with two attempts on one of her victims, between June 2015 and June 2016.

Lucy Letby's lawyer, Mark McDonald, claims police made a "huge mistake" by launching a manslaughter probe into hospital staff following Letby's conviction, asserting defense expert evidence "points the finger in a very different direction." Cheshire Constabulary widened its investigation at the Countess of Chester Hospital from corporate manslaughter to include gross negligence manslaughter. McDonald also claims Letby is the victim of a miscarriage of justice and hopes to have her case reviewed.
