In March 2025, a man infected with measles traveled on Amtrak Northeast Regional 175 Train Southbound from Boston's South Station, boarding at Penn Station in New York around 7:30 p.m. and arriving at Union Station in Washington, D.C. He tested positive for measles on March 22 at MedStar Health Urgent Care at Adams Morgan. As of March 21, 2025, there were 378 confirmed measles cases in the U.S., including an outbreak in West Texas with over 120 cases and one death.
