Mark Carney projected as winner of Canadian federal election

The 45th Canadian federal election results are in, and the Liberal Party of Canada, led by Mark Carney, is projected to form government.Either party needed 172 seats out of a possible 343 to form a majority.As of this article's publication, the count shows the Liberal Party of Canada winning 130 seats and the Conservative Party of Canada winning 89 seats. Many seats are left to be decided but several publications have now called a majority for Carney.Carney and Conservative leader Poilievre ran two very different campaigns, and U.S. President Donald Trump was a significant factor in political conversations leading to the election.
