Martyn's Law in memory of Manchester Arena bomb victim 'weeks away' from being passed

Figen Murray, Martyn's mother has been fighting to get the bill, named in her son's memory, passed into British law for several years

Martyn's Law, aimed at protecting entertainment venues from terror attacks, is expected to be passed in the UK within weeks, potentially before the eighth anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing on May 22. The law, officially the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, will require venues with a capacity over 200 to have anti-terror plans. Figen Murray, mother of victim Martyn Hett, has campaigned for the law and anticipates royal assent soon, after which venues will have two years to implement the new security measures.
