McKenzie says plans afoot to bring boxing back to former glory

McKenzie described the current state of boxing in the country as being in the Intensive Care Unit.

South Africa's Sports Minister, Gayton McKenzie, has announced plans to revive boxing, hosting a conference in East London, known as the Mecca of boxing. He described the sport's current state as critical, akin to being in the Intensive Care Unit. Issues include funding shortages and limited support for female boxers. McKenzie is committed to addressing these challenges and will meet with boxers next month to discuss further solutions.
