A measles outbreak has occurred in a remote northern Alberta Indigenous community, with an adult and five children quarantined after lab tests confirmed the outbreak within one household. Alberta Health Services is working with the community to identify and immunize unvaccinated individuals. A separate measles case was also confirmed in Edmonton. Measles is highly contagious, with potential complications, and vaccination is available free of charge in Alberta.
