Met officer denies ‘grabbing teenager by throat’ after boy insulted him

A Metropolitan Police officer, Pc Stephen Evans, denies grabbing a 13-year-old boy by the throat after the boy allegedly insulted him during a disagreement on November 4, 2022. The teenager, referred to as Witness A, accused Pc Evans of grabbing him around the throat and throwing him onto a concrete driveway, causing injury to the back of his head. Pc Evans maintains that he grabbed the boy's lapels and that his actions were reasonable and proportionate. The incident lasted around 10 minutes and resulted in no visible injuries. The case is under consideration for gross misconduct, which could lead to Pc Evans' dismissal.
