Mexican Firm Courts Banks for $3.7 Billion Bet on Digital City, Fertilizers

Fermaca Global has lined up banks to help kickstart an ambitious $3.7 billion plan to build data infrastructure and a fertilizer plant in the northern Mexican state of Durango.



Fermaca Global is seeking $3.7 billion in financing from banks to build a Digital City with 2,000 km of dark fiber and a fertilizer plant in Durango, Mexico. The Digital City project, costing $2.7 billion, will be initially funded with $100 million of company and investor funds, followed by $200-$250 million in debt. The fertilizer plant will cost $1 billion. Fermaca is in talks with three to five domestic and international banks and is targeting clients like Meta, Amazon, Google and others.
