Microsoft plans US$297 million AI investment in South Africa

South Africa is seeking to shore up private investment in the country to accelerate economic growth



Microsoft will invest US$297 million in South Africa by 2027 to expand cloud and AI capacity, and provide digital skills certifications for 50,000 young people. This investment adds to Microsoft's existing investments in the country, including data centers in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Centurion.
