Over 100 people were evacuated from a chairlift at Pats Peak Ski Area in Henniker, New Hampshire, due to a malfunction where the rope came off the cable (a deropement). The incident occurred on the Peak Triple chairlift on February 17, 2025, and the rescue operation, which took about 90 minutes, involved the ski patrol and Henniker Fire and Rescue. This was the third chairlift incident in New Hampshire this month. Additionally, high winds caused power outages and closures at several New England ski resorts. Despite these incidents, 55% of skiers reported feeling safe on chairlifts.
