Most Brits will eat food dropped on the floor but still stick to the six

The six-second rule is almost the law for many hungry Brits who have ever dropped some chips, crisps or even a box of chicken nuggets from a well-known fast food chain

A Daily Star study of 2,000 adults found that 73% of Brits will eat food dropped on the floor if retrieved within six seconds, although 16% prefer a 3-4 second window. While 46% do so to avoid waste, others consider floor cleanliness or believe "a little dirt won't hurt." However, 57% wouldn't eat dropped ice cream, and many reject scrambled eggs, curry, mashed potato, butter or baked beans.
