‘We thought the red paint was blood’, resident says
Homes in Walthamstow and Leyton, north-east London, have been splattered with red paint in recent weeks, causing concern among residents. Police are investigating the vandalism, which has also occurred in other parts of the country. The incidents, primarily around Chingford Road in Walthamstow, involve paint being daubed on bricks and windows. One previous incident in Leyton involved the word "brothel" being painted in red. The Met Police are investigating and considering links to similar events outside London.
