Nearly $3M in cocaine, meth seized from trucks entering Canada at Coutts border crossing

A combined 228 kg of methamphetamine and cocaine worth nearly $3 million that was bound for Calgary was seized at the Coutts border crossing in two separate incidents.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) seized nearly $3 million worth of drugs, including 186 kg of methamphetamine and 42 kg of cocaine, in two incidents at the Coutts border crossing in Alberta. The seizures highlight the CBSA's efforts to prevent illegal drugs from entering Canada, as noted by Public Safety Minister David McGuinty. These operations coincide with enhanced border security measures, such as the deployment of a Black Hawk helicopter and a proposed joint strike force, aimed at curbing drug trafficking. The incidents also challenge U.S. claims about drug flow, indicating Canada's growing issue with drugs entering the country.
