New Rangers manager makes feeling clear on state of club after 'whirlwind 24 hours'

Philippe Clement's 16-month reign at Ibrox was brought to an end on Sunday night, and less than 24 hours later Barry Ferguson has been named interim boss of the Scottish giants

Rangers have appointed former captain Barry Ferguson as interim manager following the sacking of Philippe Clement after 16 months in charge. Clement's departure came after a 2-0 home defeat to St Mirren, leaving Rangers 13 points behind Celtic in the Premiership and following a Scottish Cup exit to Queen's Park. Ferguson described the rapid change as a "whirlwind 24 hours" and emphasized the need for consistency and winning. Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart acknowledged deeper issues within the club and noted a football review is underway.
