Nicosia congratulated Limassol and Larnaca for advancing to the second stage of the bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2030. The two cities are among the final contenders from the initial five bids, which also included Ayia Napa, Curium, and Nicosia. Nicosia expressed support for the selected cities, emphasizing their contribution to European cultural diversity. Limassol and Larnaca celebrated their progress, with Larnaca highlighting its vision for a future rooted in care, culture, and hope. Cyprus will share the title with cities in Belgium and another non-EU member state, marking the second time Cyprus hosts the title, following Paphos in 2017.
