Nigeria to attain $1tn economy through tax reform bills – Senate

The Nigerian Senate believes the proposed Tax Reform Bills are crucial for achieving President Bola Tinubu's vision of a $1 trillion economy. Sani Musa, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, stated that the reforms will strengthen Nigeria's economic framework and emphasized the importance of a three-day retreat to review stakeholders' submissions and consult experts. The goal is to create legislation that is workable, constitutional, and beneficial for all Nigerians, ensuring it outlasts the current administration. Abdul Ningi, chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, initially opposed the bills but now supports them following stakeholder consultations and changes to the legislation, which he believes now reflect national consensus.
