Nigerian romeo conman who duped women out of £200,000 online avoids deportation as judge rules his wife and children need NHS care

A romance fraudster who tricked women into paying him almost £200,000 has been allowed to stay in the UK after judges said Nigeria's healthcare system could not meet his family's medical needs.

Emmanuel Jack, a Nigerian man jailed in 2014 for defrauding women of nearly £200,000 through online dating scams, has avoided deportation. A tribunal ruled that deporting Jack would be unduly harsh on his British wife and children, who have complex medical needs and rely on the NHS and his care. The judges cited the potential disruption to ongoing medical investigations and specialized treatment for his wife, 18-month-old son, and six-year-old daughter, as well as his step-daughter. The tribunal recognized Jack as a loving and hands-on father, emphasizing the devastating impact deportation would have on his family's well-being.
