Some services from Manchester will be diverted
Nine weekends of rail disruption on the West Coast Main Line, between late March and early June, will divert some TransPennine services between Manchester and Scotland, affecting Bolton. No trains will run between Carlisle and Glasgow/Edinburgh during closures. Rail replacement buses will operate on affected routes. The work includes track renewals, drainage improvements, signal renewals, and infrastructure maintenance.
