No misconduct from Met officers in Chelsea Bridge death, watchdog finds

In June 2022, Oladeji Omishore, 41, died after being tasered and jumping from Chelsea Bridge following a confrontation with Metropolitan Police officers. The IOPC cleared the officers of misconduct, finding their belief that Omishore posed a threat during the Queen's Jubilee weekend "not unreasonable" and their use of a Taser justified in the circumstances. An inquest jury ruled Omishore's death due to drowning complications, not the officers' actions, and that he was suffering a mental health relapse. While the officers were investigated for lack of cooperation, disciplinary action wasn't warranted.
