North Sea: Crew of oil tanker ‘safe and accounted for’ following collision with cargo ship

US-flagged tanker with jet fuel cargo ablaze off UK coast, with 32 sent to hospital

A tanker carrying jet fuel for the US military, the Stena Immaculate, collided with the cargo ship Solong off the coast of England, causing a fire, explosions, and the evacuation of both crews. One crew member of the Solong is missing. The collision caused a fuel spill, raising concerns about environmental damage to protected seabird colonies. The Solong was en route to Rotterdam and struck the anchored Stena Immaculate in a busy waterway.
