Nova Scotia NDP questions lack of pharmacare deal with Ottawa

NDP Leader Claudia Chender says pharmacare was left off Nova Scotia’s list of priorities contained in a letter sent earlier this week to Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The Nova Scotia NDP is questioning why the province hasn't signed a pharmacare deal with Ottawa, noting its absence from the premier's list of priorities. While talks are ongoing, a deal is unlikely before a potential federal election. The province wants to ensure financial sense and complement existing programs, such as diabetes device coverage. Manitoba, BC, PEI, and Yukon have agreements. A separate $39 million federal deal was reached to improve access to rare disease drugs.
