Ontario school board director resigns after $40K Blue Jays stadium retreat

Following the controversy over an off-site retreat costing nearly $40,000, the Thames Valley District School Board has announced that its director of education has stepped down.

Ontario school board director Mark Fisher resigned following a $40,000 retreat at the Blue Jays stadium. Fisher was on leave since early September, and his resignation followed the revelation of the retreat's cost. The Ministry of Education is auditing the Thames Valley District School Board, and Bill Tucker is now interim director. Linda Nicholls, an associate director, is no longer employed by the board.
