Edmonton's forward-thinking City Plan, enabling zoning bylaw, creative housing industry, and supportive city council are addressing the housing needs of its growing population. To maintain this momentum, policies should be continuously assessed for their effectiveness and ability to support needed housing and development. Addressing barriers to development is critical to accommodate Edmonton's projected growth of one million people. Sufficient land for non-residential development and continued planning for growth are essential.
