The Canadian federal government has paused the work of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care pending an external review. This review, ordered by Health Minister Mark Holland, addresses concerns that the task force's breast cancer screening recommendations, particularly not recommending mammograms for women under 50, are outdated and contradict expert opinions. Breast Cancer Canada and Dense Breasts Canada support this pause.
