Mikko Rantanen was traded from the Colorado Avalanche to the Dallas Stars, with the Stars giving up two first-round picks and center Logan Stankoven. The trade was delayed due to contract negotiations with Rantanen's camp. Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired center Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for prospect winger Nikita Grebenkin and a conditional first-round pick in 2027.
