SOS Children's Villages, an NGO, held a town hall meeting in Makurdi, Benue State, as part of the EU-SDGN II project "Towards a Peaceful Non-Violent Election in Nigeria" to review the 2023 elections and gather feedback ahead of the 2027 general elections. Stakeholders discussed election outcomes, sustainable peace, strengthened democracy, constitutional/electoral act reviews, and the need for citizen participation in governance. Calls were made for scrapping State Independent Electoral Commissions and youth involvement in ensuring purposeful leadership.
