Toronto's famous skate trail under a highway opens this month
The Bentway's winter skate trail officially opens on Dec. 20, bringing another beloved annual tradition back to the city.The 220-metre-long, figure-eight-shaped ice rink — iconically tucked beneath one of Canada's busiest highways — will host daily free skating sessions along with other special events throughout the season.Back for its eighth consecutive year, The Bentway's winter skating program launches with an extended opening weekend featuring free skate rentals, maple taffy for anyone with a sweet tooth, and a fun photo op, all courtesy of its collaboration with Batiste Dry Shampoo and Hero Patches. Opening weekend perks are available until Dec. 23, while supplies last. Also returning is the Polar Bear Skate, a cheeky event (quite literally) where guests are invited to strip down to their undergarments and brave the cold for a lap around the rink.
